Improper lookout

November 2025

Antonio Munoz was stopped in traffic in his Dodge Ram when Robbie Larios, who was driving a truck directly behind Munoz, failed to stop and crashed directly into the rear of the Ram. Munoz sustained serious injuries, including a closed-head injury, cervical herniations at C3-4 and C6-7, and a subluxation of the lumbar spine at L4 and L5.

Munoz sued Larios and the owner of the truck, alleging negligence. The plaintiff claimed that Larios had failed to keep a proper lookout and observe traffic conditions.

The jury awarded approximately $514,000.

Citation: Munoz v. Larios, No. 2024CV30097 (Colo. Dist. Ct. Adams Cnty. Mar. 3, 2025).
