Negligent wisdom tooth procedure
November/December 2024Kenneth Mendizabal underwent a wisdom tooth procedure performed by dentist Koosha Aghajani. After removing one of Mendizabal’s wisdom teeth, Aghajani cut the left side of Mendizabal’s face and mouth with a surgical blade, resulting in an 18-mm scar.
Mendizabal sued Aghajani, alleging he negligently failed to use reasonable care during the procedure.
The jury awarded the plaintiff approximately $82,400 in noneconomic damages.
