Wildfires

The AAJ Wildfires Litigation Group assists members litigating wildfire cases across the country. Although the Litigation Group covers all wildfire litigation, the immediate focus is the 2017 fires in northern California. These fires damaged more than 8,400 structures, burned more than 220,000 acres, and caused the death of more than 40 people.

The Wildfires Litigation Group provides a forum for lawyers litigating cases to share knowledge, strategies, and educational resources. The Litigation Group has a secure, members-only list server and document library where members can share pertinent information and documents regarding the litigation. This Litigation Group holds regular meetings that are closed to members only to discuss current cases and important updates.

• Meetings: AAJ Annual and Winter Conventions, or as need by group members.
• Membership: The group is limited to AAJ Regular, Life, Sustaining, and President’s Club members only.
• Dues: The Litigation Group is complementary to members of the AAJ Insurance Law Section, AAJ Environmental and Toxic Torts Section, and AAJ Premises Liability Section who can agree to the terms and conditions of membership in the Litigation Group's Affidavit.
