The Group focuses on medical negligence other than those areas currently covered by AAJ litigation groups such as birth trauma, breast cancer, and laparoscopy. The group focuses on current medical and legal information to assist members in investigating and pursuing medical negligence claims. Members of this Group must be members of the Professional Negligence Section.
The Group was formed in January 1999.
The Group will hold strategy and informational meetings and round table discussions several times a year. Group members network throughout the year, sharing resources such as information regarding current medical literature review, defense expert witness testimony, and medical standards and guidelines. A membership list is provided to all members. Members of the Group have a wide array of printed materials and contacts and will educate its members as to new information and its sources. The Group is limited to plaintiff's counsel only.
- Meetings: AAJ conventions and other times throughout the year.
- Membership: Open to Regular, Sustaining, Life, and President's Club AAJ members who are plaintiff attorneys who do not represent insurance companies and/or hospitals in medical negligence cases. Must be member of the Professional Negligence Section.
- Dues: $200/attorney
